Charlie Kirk once said some gun deaths 'worth it' in order to have Second Amendment?

Conservative activist and Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk, 31, died yesterday after being shot at a Utah Valley University event. Following the shooting, online users shared an alleged quote from Kirk about gun deaths. They claimed Kirk, a close ally of President Donald Trump, once said, "I think it's worth it. I think it's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."

Snopes senior reporter Jordan Liles has the details, including a transcript of Kirk's remarks during an April 2023 TPUSA Faith event.
