Snopes is 99% of the way to its goal of 15,000 paying members

We are almost there! Only 200 members left to add, and we’ll reach our goal of 15,000 paying members.

Once we hit our goal, we should be able to cover a shortfall of ad revenue and break even each month. Then, we can start thinking about the future.

Snopes only needs 200 more members to reach 15,000 goal

We are giving thought to possible goals we can shoot for once we pass the break-even point. One idea is to hire additional staff to cover the weekends so Snopes can do fact-checking seven days a week. Another idea is to expand our coverage of topics (i.e., sports rumors, health claims, etc.). We’ll share more information next time, once we pass our break-even goal.

Please join our fact-checking mission and help push Snopes across the finish line.

P.S. Apple finally approved our app update, which includes our new Tips Dashboard. Members can use it to rate or submit topics that they think we should fact-check.
