Claims Obama hasn't paid Black contractors who worked on library are missing key context
Amid the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, online rumors claimed that the former president's foundation "stiffed" Black and minority contractors who worked on the project.
The truth is far more complicated than the claims suggest. Court filings reveal deep disputes, bankruptcies and allegations of racial discrimination. But the finger-pointing is happening between contractors and subcontractors, making it difficult to determine how much blame lies with the Obama Foundation, if any.
