Snopes needs your help. The inauguration comes just after Meta cut ties with third-party fact-checkers in favor of a Community Notes model like X has. It's a move that makes it harder for fact-checking organizations to do our work, especially as we've seen firsthand how Community Notes can't keep up with the spread of false information. By building our membership, we will be able to rely less on external platforms and continue (and hopefully expand) Snopes' mission uninterrupted regardless of industry or tech changes.
