Trump email asked for donations so he could 'get to heaven'
Over Labor Day weekend, social media posts claimed that a fundraising email from President Trump asked people for $15 donations and opened with this line: “I want to try and get to heaven.” Screenshots of the purported message gained traction as false rumors that Trump had died also spread online.
The claim about the fundraising email turned out to be true. Senior Reporter Jordan Liles explains how he verified the email’s authenticity and what it actually said.
