Unpacking claim Trump plans to deploy National Guard to 19 states
This month, a rumor spread that President Donald Trump had ordered the deployment of the National Guard to 19 states.
The claim stemmed from a Fox News investigation that 1,700 National Guard troops would be deployed to 19 states to support deportation efforts by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The news network said it had seen documents detailing the plan, including a list of states to which the troops would be deployed. Snopes reporter Anna Rascouët-Paz investigated.
