This month, several social media pages circulated a story about a Croatian woman whose death went unnoticed for decades. According to the reports, Hedviga Golik died alone in her apartment in Zagreb — then part of Yugoslavia, but now the capital of Croatia — in 1966. Her body reportedly went undiscovered for 42 years, only coming to light during renovations in 2008.
