Unpacking claim Trump left West Point graduation early, then played golf

Online users shared a rumor claiming that, after President Donald Trump's commencement address Saturday at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in New York, he departed early without following a tradition of staying to honor graduates during the diploma ceremony, and played golf instead.

Every recent U.S. president has kept that tradition — including Joe Biden, Trump himself during his first term, Barack Obama and George W. Bush. Snopes senior reporter Jordan Liles investigated what Trump did and didn't do at this year's graduation.
